wake up earlier abit than usual to be in time of finance minister's speech on Budget 2009...

the highlights gt alot..
focus on creating and retaining jobs...
helping business esp SME on their expenses...
encouraging banks to lend for trade financing...
helping individuals and family households by giving more rebates and credits...

for individual like me...
most concern is of course GST credits, education grant, skills upgrade, and housing benefits...

GST credits has doubled for this yr...
so i can expect, or most of us, can expect abt 1000+ this yr...
since last yr i gt 500+...

u can have up to 20% of income tax rebate if u r taxable for this yr...

skills upgrading courses has granted subsidy from 80% to 90%...
and tertiary courses including unisim and local 3 unis NTU NUS SMU, all have more grant too...

housing wise, the CPF grant has increased from 30k to 40k, and income ceiling from 4k to 5k...

more houses will be build to accommodate young couples and smaller families over the 2 years...
skills upgrade will be esp impt to retain current job or finding new ones...

and i will be waiting for march to receive my 1st GST payout for the yr! XD
